Today, I made my first self-gratifying neurodivergent purchase off Amazon. I finally caved in and bought noise-reducing ear plugs by Flare Calmer. They boast about their ability to allow sound through while filtering out the loud, shrill noises.

That is one of my sensory struggles–I am ultra-sensitive to loud, high-pitched noises. Someone should have told me this before I had kids. I often have to retreat into a closet to hide from them and decompress my senses.

I’m about to embark on a vacation to Universal Studios Florida with my two special brats, so let’s pray these things actually work.
